Velvet Rebellion begins a new era with “Mirror, Mirror,” released July 12, 2026 as the first single from the band’s forthcoming fourth album, Sovereign. A tense, modern hard-rock anthem about comparison, beauty standards, digital pressure, and the identities people construct to survive them, the song follows a woman who has spent years trying to become acceptable before realizing the reflection was never hers to begin with.

Led by Lisa Parks, “Mirror, Mirror” turns the familiar fairy-tale image into something colder and more contemporary. The mirror is no longer merely glass. It is the television screen, the camera, the curated feed, the approval counter, and every flawless face quietly suggesting that someone else has discovered the correct way to exist.

Musically and lyrically, the song begins trapped inside repetition: changing clothes, hair, expression, and identity while searching for a version of the self that never arrives. As the track builds, that uncertainty becomes resistance. Cracks spread across the imposed image, and the question changes from “Why am I not enough?” to “Who decided I wasn’t?”
